We need to resurrect the Primrose League of which I was a member years ago. It's 'pledge':

"I declare on my honour and faith that I will devote my best ability to the maintenance of religion, of the estates of the realm, and of the imperial ascendancy of the British Empire; and that, consistently with my allegiance to the sovereign of these realms, I will promote with discretion and fidelity the above objects, being those of the Primrose League."

That is a party I would join!   I'm in the wrong country though.  Hopefully they restart it.

One problem though, maybe they need to replace British Empire with Commonwealth.

You're right about Empire. That part needs rewording. It wasn't a party, however. It was a 'ginger group' within the Conservative Party. And I belonged while I lived in the States.

How about:

"I declare on my honour and faith that I will devote my best ability to the maintenance of religion, of the estates of the realm, and of the co-operation of the Commonwealth Realms; and that, consistently with my allegiance to the sovereign of these realms, I will promote with discretion and fidelity the above objects, being those of the Primrose League."

???

It seems like that change would work well.

Yes,
What would revival under those terms take?

I've been thinking about this again. I've come up with another alternative wording in the pledge. Are are the two of them:

A) 'I declare on my honour and faith that I will devote my best ability to the maintenance of religion, of the estates of the realm, and of the co-operation of the Commonwealth Realms; and that, consistent with my allegiance to the sovereign of these realms, I will promote with discretion and fidelity the above objects, being those of the Primrose League.'
or

B) '
I declare on my honour and faith that I will devote my best ability to the maintenance of religion, of the estates of the realm, and to further unity of the Commonwealth Realms; and that, consistent with my allegiance to the sovereign of these realms, I will promote with discretion and fidelity the above objects, being those of the Primrose League'

I was thinking of starting with a Facebook presence and then building a webpage/starting a blog?

Thoughts?

A) I declare on my honour and faith that I will devote my best ability to the maintenance of religion and of the estates of the realm, and to the harmony of the Commonwealth Realms; and that, consistent with my allegiance to the sovereign of these realms, I will promote with discretion and fidelity the above objects, being those of the Primrose League.

B) 'I declare on my honour and faith that I will devote my best ability to the maintenance of religion and of the estates of the realm, and to the harmony of the Commonwealth of Nations; and that, consistent with my allegiance to the sovereign of this realm, I will promote with discretion and fidelity the above objects, being those of the Primrose League.

Point of the second one is that the Commonwealth consists of more than the Realms, realm then changed to singular on its second occurrence. I thought 'harmony' sounded, I don't know, nicer in the context than 'co-operation', and I personally have no wish to see greater unity among the Realms, certainly not in the sense of union, harmony will do fine thanks. Of course the pledge in any form is not one I could or would take, as while I have no objection to religion generally, only to certain specific aspects of some religions that impact me and people like me negatively, I could hardly swear to its maintenance with a straight face.
