I received a beautiful thank you card from Her Majesty today in reply to my congratulations on her Jubilee. It's a tri-fold with pictures from throughout her reign on the sides and the middle panel reads, 'I send you my grateful thanks for the words of loyalty and support which you have so kindly sent on the occasion of the Sixtieth Anniversary of my Accession to the Throne. -- Elizabeth R  2012'

Since I made a point that I was her loyal Canadian subject, I'm wondering, was there another wording on cards to non-subjects?

Also, an amusing point! On the back of the envelope, directly under the Royal Arms on the flap, is a Royal Mail sticker which reads, 'The sender of this item applied insufficient Airmail postage, so we diverted it to an alternative service. This may have caused delay.'

Penny pinching at the Palace?

I'll let you know...I wrote to congratulate HM this weekend, saying how much I'd enjoyed her Jubilee celebrations and mentioning that "while I may not be officially counted among Your Majesty’s subjects, I have always felt a strong sense of affection and loyalty" to the monarchy.

Seth had the same experience!   On the other hand the response to my card congratulating TRH the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their first anniversary was fairly prompt and sufficiently "postaged."
