He's right, of course.  When I go to England I want to see the countryside unmarred by those hideous things.

If British people are so concerned about the environment, they should demand the restoration of the railway lines stupidly abolished by Beeching and give up their dependence on cars which as Peter Hitchens repeatedly points out has been a disaster for Britain.

Well we Norwegian who do all but nuclear and coal power have more to complain about it. But we don't because we are smart with where we place them, something the British people need too be.

For UK it is 255/km2 and for Norway it is 13/km2.... I get your point but still the British have something to learn from us.

Too be honest I do not know the details, but I know both British and Norwegian professionals have been saying this.

Britain has a lot to learn from itself (it past) - bring back the trains and stop encouraging the automobile for one....

Build small, live friendly, and eat local....

Having only experienced windfarms from a distance, other than the visual issues, and the questions about cost effectiveness, what exactly is the environmental objection to them?  Do they make horrible noise or something?
