Based at Buckingham Palace, Privy Purse Finance provides comprehensive support on financial matters relating to the private finances of Her Majesty The Queen and other Members of the Royal Family. Its remit covers all financial matters including financial reporting and planning, systems development, taxation and financial control and invoice processing.

Joining the team as the Privy Purse Accounts Manager, you will have overall responsibility for ensuring that all financial and legal requirements are met, that all processes and systems run smoothly and according to best practice and that effective systems of internal control are in place.

You will:

  • be responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of monthly or quarterly management accounts, together with the preparation of annual reports and/or financial statements, for a number of entities;
  • lead, motivate and inspire the Privy Purse Finance team to deliver the highest standards;
  • oversee the production of cash flow forecasts;
  • manage the timely and accurate preparation of reforecasts and budgets for a number of entities;
  • ensure that all financial transactions are adequately controlled, promptly accounted for and properly recorded in the books of account;
  • sign off balance sheet reconciliations for all entities; and manage all of the Privy Purse and Private Estates taxation affairs, including preparation of annual tax computations, liaison with Inland Revenue and ensuring timely payment of established liability.

To be successful you will:

  • hold a CCAB qualification (or equivalent) with relevant experience in a similar role and with significant exposure to ledger reconciliations. Previous experience as an Auditor or being subject to an audit is highly desirable;
  • have the ability to lead, motivate and facilitate the personal and professional development of the team;
  • possess the ability to prioritise and organise work to meet deadlines and with the ability to think logically and objectively;
  • have experience of implementing & reviewing internal control procedures, and of dealing with a range of taxation issues;
  • be IT literate and analytical, with good judgement and decision making capability;
  • possess the communication skills and gravitas to influence and form relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels;
  • take a rigorous approach to standards of internal customer service and continuous improvement; and,
  • possess a team focused, supportive and adaptable approach to work.
