Today, the Second Monday in March is Commonwealth Day.

The Queen, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall did not neglect the occasion. Sounds like a splendid day, though I'm not sure how good Rufus Wainwright would have been singing Hallelujah. There have been worse renditions than his, many of which I've unfortunately heard, but there have been many better as well. Not really the most appropriate song for the context, either, great as it is. But, as said, I'm sure it was overall a very fine commemoration of Commonwealth Day in Jubilee year.
