I'm a Zionist. Israel is the homeland of the Jewish people, and I support the existence of the State of Israel despite it being a republic. But I'm in doubt concerning the Israel/Palestine conflict. The best option is a one-state solution with equal rights for Jews and Palestinians, because both the Israeli Jews and the Palestinians consider the entire Land of Israel their homeland, but that's sadly unlikely to work because anti-Semitism and Islamism are widespread among the Palestinians. A two-state solution may be the least bad option, but I don't support a return to pre-1967 borders, because Jerusalem is the holiest city in Judaism and the Temple Mount is the holiest place in Judaism, while Jerusalem ranks below Mecca and Medina in Islam. Before the Six-Day War in 1967, the entire Old City of Jerusalem was under Jordanian control, including the Jewish Quarter and the Wailing Wall. That was unacceptable.
A possible solution to the Jerusalem question is partitioning the Old City of Jerusalem. The Jewish Quarter and the Armenian Quarter will remain Israeli territory, and the Muslim Quarter and the Christian Quarter will become Palestinian territory. The Temple Mount will remain Israeli territory. Israel keeping the Armenian Quarter is necessary in order to connect the Jewish Quarter with West Jerusalem. The Armenian Quarter and the Christian Quarter are adjacent to West Jerusalem, and the Jewish Quarter and the Muslim Quarter are situated further to the east. The Jewish Quarter and the Armenian Quarter are situated to the south, and the Muslim Quarter and the Christian Quarter are situated to the north. The Jewish Quarter and the Muslim Quarter are adjacent to the Temple Mount. Hebron, where the Cave of the Patriarchs is situated, is the second holiest city in Judaism. Hebron is currently divided into the H1 sector, which is controlled by the Palestinian Authority, and the H2 sector, which is controlled by Israel. The Cave of the Patriarchs is situated in the H2 sector. The H2 sector of Hebron is connected to Israel proper by an area C corridor. Area C is the parts of the West Bank directly controlled by Israel (Area A and Area B are the parts of the West Bank controlled by the Palestinian Authority. Area A is under Palestinian security control, while Area B is under Israeli security control). I support the H2 sector of Hebron and the Area C corridor, which connects the H2 sector of Hebron with Israel proper, being annexed by Israel.
