It's been trending on social media. Zimbabwe, facing economic collapse under the ruinous Mugabe regime and with a third of its population - a higher percentage than Syria - now immigrants or refugees abroad, which was once the breadbasket of Africa but now cannot produce food for itself.

Typical of condescending Western liberals over decades, who pushed for a solution with the onset of decolonisation that placed the wrong people in power, with decidedly less-than-liberal outcomes. This has been repeated all over the world!

The shutdown was a great thing to see, when people have had enough of a repressive regime and a failed state that has delivered them nothing but misery. However, it's the Western liberal elites that should be ashamed of themselves for foisting this misery upon decolonisation. South Africa may not be far behind, and that could be worse for Africa and for everyone.
