There have been some stories in the press recently about some discord within the Curia, mostly about beaurocratic changes, corruption, and manuveuring around the election of the next Pope.

The discord seems to intensify...someone needs to take this in hand and muzzle people.

Seems like some things at least haven't changed that much since the era depicted in The Borgias.  Now if only the "soundtrack" today were as good...

The Borgias were just murderers, whoremongers, drunks, and trecherous. Typical Italian politics. Today's Roman curia and papacy is utterly heretical.

The hour of my death now drawing on, the tender love I owe you forceth me, my case being such, to commend myself to you, and to put you in remembrance with a few words of the health and safeguard of your soul which you ought to prefer before all worldly matters, and before the care and pampering of your body, for the which you have cast me into many calamities and yourself into many troubles. For my part, I pardon you everything, and I wish to devoutly pray God that He will pardon you also. For the rest, I commend unto you our daughter Mary, beseeching you to be a good father unto her, as I have heretofore desired. I entreat you also, on behalf of my maids, to give them marriage portions, which is not much, they being but three. For all my other servants I solicit the wages due them, and a year more, lest they be unprovided for. Lastly, I make this vow, that mine eyes desire you above all things.

I still prefer Alexander VI to Paul VI.

So are you a sedevacantist now?

The thing is the "republicans" and modernists if you will are amazed at this sad behaviour because they have some idea that men who are in the Church are always going to be righteous. But that whole romantic idea of theirs aside, they really just are to pathetic to not realise there will always be corruption in Rome. This is not the Mormon Church where the leaders are picture perfect and Mormons insist there is never any real corruption. This is Catholicism. It's real, whether you believe its the true religion or not. The men are real, and they are hungry for power.

The Vatican sources said some cardinals asked the pope to replace Bertone because of administrative lapses, including the failure to warn the pope that a renegade bishop re-admitted to the Church in 2009 was a well-known Holocaust denier.

You know me, Theodore. And I am going to just say one more thing before allowing a few other comments. That just makes my day...boils my blood. I am beginning to like this man. And let's hope the assasination attempts against the pope prove false.

Yes, I do, but I don't recall you saying that "today's...papacy is utterly heretical" before.
