Meanwhile in Canada:

Yep. Thankfully very few people take this seriously, and if you look at the article's comments section, he gets a general smackdown. Still, there are a number of people in Her Majesty's Disloyal Opposition and elsewhere that support this view.

There are people in the MP's own party, not to mention the other parties (save for the treasonous PQ and BQ) that will profoundly disagree with him.

What price does treason hold in these days? When was the last treason trial held? It has been too long in my view.

Well, at least he is honest. There's nothing I hate more than British MPs who take the oath of allegiance and then proceed to cast it aside and toss around republican opinions like an oath taken before God means nothing. It probably doesn't, to them. Sinn Fein are also honest about it and outright refuse to take the oath and assume their seats, for which at least I can afford them some respect.
That which concerns the mystery of the King's power is not lawful to be disputed; for that is to wade into the weakness of Princes, and to take away the mystical reverence that belongs unto them that sit in the throne of God. - James VI and I of England, Scotland and Ireland
