What are your views on slavery, serfdom and feudalism. Are any of these holy or evil in your point of view. Would you support any of these returning to the modern age, if so which ones and if so why not?

The truth is, none of these have ever totally gone away. I don't know that I would say feudalism is ideal, but it is certainly natural and many Church historians (my favorites anyway) are very open about the Church supporting it. Even in 20th Century America there has been feudalism; that's basically how the Maffia operated: you pay me so much and I protect you from the other bad guys. Slavery will certainly never come back in the west, and certainly not as it was before. I've heard the extremes of both ends, but it seems to me that the Church was alot like the Bible when it came to slavery; it just accepted that it existed and tried to make the best of it until it was finally condemned. Several saints and popes spoke out against it but it was not officially condemned until after it was abolished in Brazil.

Feudalism on the other hand could always come back; it only needs a break down in law & civil services before people naturally drift back into it. I have also heard some "absolute capitalists" (for lack of a better term) who have proposed a vision of society that was somewhat like feudalism.

Feudalism put order in the early times so I would say I like this way of ruling.

I think there is a term for it.  They're called "anarcho-capitalists," I believe.

At the risk of offending....(If easily offended stop reading NOW!).

Slavery, as a condition of Birth is morally repugnant, evil, and unsupportable.  However, as a punishment (for High Crimes) or as an alternative to bankruptcy may be defendable, and might actually be a 'good' for society.

If instead of a term in prison, as a 'ward of the state', the folks at fault in the Enron  disaster were 'sold' to the highest bidder, with the funds going to repay those who lost everything in their pension plans, I'd be all for it.

Likewise, a repeat offender in bankruptcy court might be sold to repay those to whom he was indebited, (I'd have to exclude medical bills from the 'valid causes').

Fedualism could make a viable alternative governmental system, so aspects of the 'ascending layers' still exist in the 'Federal Republics' - though the centralists continue to grab power.

Again, please note that my defense of Slavery is NOT the inheritable kind, only when it is result of one's own actions does it become a reasonable idea (to me).

Myself I am a feudalism, and believe that homeless and unemployment exists because people are not working on big estates in the country run by our natural Aristocracy. There is to much overcrowding in the cities because of Industrialization. From Industrialization onwards the greedy middle class industrialists have been running things. Society needs to be much more ordered. As for slavery based on colour I am not in favour. Serfdom where people are tied to the land they work and live on and where they have there own little plots is a much more better way.
