But right and wrong is not a matter of what you like. You seem to be as good as admitting what was rather obvious by this point - the knee-jerk positions come first with you and the attempts at argument are just whatever you can throw together to try to support them.

I have actually changed my mind on a Spanish unilateral annexation of the Rock of Gibraltar. I have admitted that Spain unilaterally annexing the Rock of Gibraltar is wrong. I will still support Spain in a hypothetical war over Gibraltar, because I will support the lesser evil (a Spanish invasion of Gibraltar) in order to avoid the greater evil (Spain becoming a republic). But I no longer consider a Spanish unilateral annexation of Gibraltar to be morally right.

And if the German state is teaching German children that they are responsible for the crimes of Nazi Germany, that is unjust. One is responsible for the sins they commit, not for those of their ancestors or nation. There is only need to repent one's own sins or crimes. Affecting living people is neither here nor there, if the event happened long ago. Even what you mention is not a matter of atoning for the past, but acting correctly now. I think we should recognise Kurdistan, but not because of what happened a century ago. We should do so because it is the right thing to do now.

On Israel-Palestine, I am no expert on what happened under British rule, but your position, especially the certainty in it, strikes me as another silly contention. It is true that the Jews faced a terrible fate, but I don't know whether that means Britain should have flung open the gates in Palestine, where we were colonial custodians, and let in large scale immigration that would have changed the demographic balance considerably. It's a tough call, morally, and for you to just assert we made a great wrong in not allowing it, with such confidence, is foolish. We turned away Jews from Britain. Why is that not the issue? We could have easily let them in, without the issues of colonialism involved in allowing large amounts of immigrants into one of our colonies. Or perhaps we could have settled them in Kurdistan? By your own principles, had this happened, and had it changed the demographic balance in Kurdistan, you would have no cause for complaint. How about today Kurdistan should open up its borders to refugees from all over the world?

Britain severely limited Jewish immigration to the Mandate of Palestine in 1939. The British policy on Jewish immigration to the Mandate of Palestine was far more lenient before 1939. Limiting Jewish immigration to Israel in 1939 was morally wrong, because the Nuremberg Laws were enacted in 1935 and the Kristallnacht happened in 1938. Britain had promised to established a Jewish national home in the Land of Israel in 1917.
