This evening after vespers at the Cathedral Church of St. Michael in Belgrade, His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of the Serbian Orthodox Church will hold a memorial service over the remains of Prince Regent Paul, Princess Olga, and Prince Nikola of Yugoslavia.  Tomorrow after Divine Liturgy, the remains of the three exiled royals will be transfered to the masoleum church of the Karadjordjevic dynasty, St. George in Oplenac, and on Saturday October 6, the Prince Regent, Princeess Olga and Prince Nikola will be laid to rest in the crypt alongside the rest of the Karadjordjevic royal family.  Crown Prince Peter and Crown Princess Katherine, along with Prince Paul's daughter Princess Elizabeth are all expected to attend.

The exhumation of the remains of Prince Paul of Yugoslavia, his wife, Princess Olga (formerly Princess Olga of Greece) and their son Prince Nikola of Yugoslavia took place in Switzerland on September 28, and a memorial service was held for them there before embarking on their final journey to Serbia.  Princess Elizabeth Karadjordjevic and her daughter Catherine Oxenberg were present at the exhumation and the memorial.

The upcoming funeral this weekend will be a full state funeral.  One can only hope that the same honors will soon be given to the late King Peter II (who is the only European crowned head to be buried in the United States) and Queen Alexandra (who is buried in her native Greece along side her Greek royal relatives).
