It's horrible to hear this. But thanks for all the updates Ethiomonarchist, I'm on holidays and had some difficulty gaining news with limited time on the internet.

Prince Friso will not receive further care in the Netherlands, but may be moved to Belgium.  They do not try to help people over the age of 25 to recover from comas caused by brain injuries such as his.

"Sorry old chap, prince or not, we just don't care for people as old as you are?"

Tell me I misunderstand...

From what I read, it appears there are just better specialists in Belgium. If he has better chances for surviving there, I don't mind.

I hope it is only for 'better specialists'...

Apparently Prince Johan Friso has been moved to Wellington Hospital in London, not Belgium.  This is probably better for his wife and daughters who live in London, to the extent that anything in this situation can be "better."  The family have a sad road in front of them.

This picture shows Queen Beatrix and Princess Mabel leaving Wellington Hospital in London after paying a visit to Prince Johan Friso.  Queen Beatrix has aged visibly during this difficult time it would seem.

Prince Friso has recently been showing some signs of life, although much remains uncertain. I hope he recovers!
