Russia: If the Russian monarchy is restored, Russia ought to keep its current flag. The current flag of Russia was introduced by Peter the Great and is the oldest flag of Russia. The current flag of Russia was also the last flag of Tsarist Russia.

This flag was the state flag of Russia from 1858 to 1883:

Turkey: If the Turkish monarchy is restored, Turkey ought to keep the current flag of Turkey, because the current flag of Turkey was the flag of the Ottoman Empire.

Kurdistan: If Kurdistan becomes a monarchy, Kurdistan ought to keep its current flag. The current flag of Kurdistan has never been used by a monarchy, but it's not anti-monarchist. The colours of the current flag of Kurdistan are the Pan-Iranic colours (red, white and green), and the radiant yellow sun is an ancient Kurdish symbol.

The current flags of Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia and Albania were also used, when those countries were monarchies.

Germany: If the German monarchy is restored, I want the black-white-red tricolor of the Second German Reich to become the flag of Germany.

Flag of the Second German Reich:

Italy: The flag of the Kingdom of Italy was similar to the current flag of Italy, but the flag of the Kingdom of Italy included the Savoy coat of arms unlike the current flag.

France: If the French monarchy is restored, France ought to keep the Tricolore. Despite the Tricolore being the symbol of the French Revolution, it has evolved into being a non-ideological symbol of France. The Tricolore was the flag of France during the reigns of Napoleon, King Louis Philippe and Napoleon III. Bonapartists and Orleanists support the Tricolore, while Legitimists reject the Tricolore.

Iran: I want the Lion and Sun flag to be restored as the flag of Iran, even if Iran becomes a secular republic. The Lion and Sun flag was the flag of Iran even before the Pahlavis took power.

The Lion and Sun flag of Iran:

The current flag of Iran symbolizes the Islamic Revolution. It's unacceptable both to monarchists and to secular republicans. I hate the current flag of Iran. It's an evil abomination, just as the red flag of Soviet Russia and the swastika flag of Nazi Germany were.

i agree a very beautiful anthem, and the real flag has the crowned persian lion on it, not the crownless one.

The state flag of pre-revolutionary Iran actually has the crownless Persian lion on it, but the naval flag of pre-revolutionary Iran has the crowned Persian lion on it. In addition, the Lion and Sun flag isn't used only by monarchists. Secular republican Iranian dissidents use the Lion and Sun flag too. The Mojahedin-e Khalq, a Marxist Iranian opposition movement, uses the Lion and Sun flag. The crownless Lion and Sun flag unites monarchists and secular republicans. During the downfall of the Communist regime in Russia, both monarchists and republican dissidents used the current flag of Russia as an anti-Communist symbol of Russia. Adding a crown to the Lion and Sun flag is divisive. I support restoration of the Iranian monarchy, but it's important not to alienate secular republicans. All opponents of the Iranian regime must cooperate (excluding the Mojahedin-e Khalq, which most Iranians hate, because they supported Saddam during the Iraq-Iran War) in order to overthrow the Iranian regime.

Former monarchies ought to keep their current flags, if they restore their monarchies, unless the symbolism of their current flags are anti-monarchist.
I prefer the black-white-red tricolor of the Second German Reich to the current flag of Germany, but I'm not opposed to Germany keeping its current flag, if the Hohenzollern German monarchy is restored. The current flag of Germany was after all adopted by the Frankfurt Parliament, which offered the Hohenzollern King of Prussia the crown of a united Germany. In addition, the black-white-red tricolor is associated with neo-Nazism in Germany today, because it's often used by neo-Nazis as a replacement for the swastika flag, which is banned in Germany. The current flag of Germany is associated with the democratic traditions of Germany, which makes it suitable for a democratic constitutional monarchy.
The French Tricolore is a special case, because it's the symbol of the French Revolution, but it was used by three monarchs of France (Napoleon, Louis Philippe and Napoleon III). The use of the Tricolore has always divided French monarchists. Bonapartists and Orleanists support the Tricolore, while Legitimists oppose the Tricolore. I support the French Tricolore, because I admire Napoleon and like Orleanism. I dislike French legitimism, because it rejects the legacy of the French Revolution entirely. I like Orleanism, because it supports monarchy, while accepting parts of the legacy of the French Revolution.
I'm opposed to include crowns and royal coats of arms on national flags, because national flags ought to be acceptable to both monarchists and republicans. That's why Italy ought to keep the plain Italian tricolor, if the Italian monarchy is restored, and why Iran ought to introduce a Lion and Sun flag with a crownless Persian lion, if the Iranian monarchy is restored.

you were right about the crownless lion, sorry.

i would prefer the present german flaf for the german monarchy as the colours reflects the colours of the coat of arms. also the black white read symolizes brandenburg and prussia, not the rest of germany.

i agree with you about keeping the italian flag. not because i dont want to insult republicans, but as a principle i dont want coats of arms to be put on flags.

The red band on the flag of the Second German Reich symbolizes the Hansa, while the black and white bands symbolizes Prussia. While I personally prefer the flag of the Second German Reich, Germany ought to keep the current flag, because the flag of the Second German Reich has been hijacked by neo-Nazis, while the current flag of Germany symbolizes the democratic traditions of Germany. The current flag of Germany isn't anti-monarchist, because it was introduced by the Frankfurt Parliament, which offered the crown of Germany to the Hohenzollern King of Prussia.

I currently live in a monarchy, Scotland/UK, so have no desire to change the current flag.
However, I would support a flag change in the event of a republic.
This would be so that my flying of the current flags would indicate my monarchist position.
This would help keep the old system alive in the hearts of adherents rather than let it be adopted as a front by the revolutionary state.
