I shall answer your question with a question: How can you know where you are, and where you are going, with knowing all about your past and where it has been?

BTW It's spelled with a K not a C.

It matters a lot more than one can perceive, you are a Komnenos Blood, for example, I searched for other Komnenos since I can remember and it was because of my blood. We are people who have received a Legacy by our ancestors, our future actions are our own but our present identity and standing is due to our predecessors, with the illustrious ancestry that we have, we should remind ourselves that whatever good we do, does not go in vain

What a wonderful response! For those of us with such background, it clearly states up the purpose of knowing the past of one's family. I have little doubt, that for those of us with such a line of descendancy, that often, there will be other such bloodlines of a similar nature - I know mine includes Western Roman, Anjou, Plantegnent, Stuart, Canmore, Wessex and several German lines as well.

Thank you Sir, it was our of emotions, on my mother’s side I just have this info, I am really interested in learning more from you and even meeting similar descendants. I am thrilled that we have a common ancestor and I that I have come across you. I want to learn more from you about this legend, a saga that we are living without noticing it

It's spelled Κομνηνός. It's more usual to transliterate it with a K, but a C is used sometimes.

I never thought this tread would spark such interest! I always wondered if such was considered "Greek" or an entirely different genre - I asked a Greek, who stated it was "Turkish", upon asking a woman from Turkey, she stated it was "Greek".

I am of European descent, and as a youth with a somewhat pale complexion, blue eyes and brownish- blond hair. At the 63, the hair is now light gray going white. I would think that most of us would be of the same calibre, unless they possessed more southern Slavic traits or had some of the Asia Minor peoples in their ancestry.

I attached a photo from some years ago.
