Peter O'Neill has been chosen as the new Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, and acting PM Sam Abal will take this to the courts. Quick! Somebody just have the Queen of Papua New Guinea appoint her choice as PM!

The Papua New Guinea police will carry out a court order to arrest the Deputy Prime Minister and Attorney-General after the Chief Justice got fired, and this hullabaloo has Australia very concerned. Also, a verdict on the constitutional legitimacy of the current government is due on December 9th. Needless to say, Her Majesty should step in and simply decree solutions, lest complete anarchy sweep PNG and result in the country's TVs and nothing else being looted like in San Andreas during the 1992 riots.

So you want the Monarchy abolished in PNG and a republic established? That's exactly what would happen if the Crown took the course you're suggesting.

No, of course not, I want order and non-chaos in Papua New Guinea. HM actually needs to be a liberal autocrat in PNG, as that country needs to raised up out of poverty to successfully become a liberal democracy, which they are currently not.

Thank goodness you are not in charge in Papua New Guinea KYM, because you would have handed republicans a potent propoganda tool.  I have difficulty understanding some of your stated positions which contradict each other.  Not long ago you declared "say no to colonialism" in a post regarding the sovreignty of Indian princes, and now you seem to be championing a ultra-colonial solution in this case.

That was basically my point, Ethio. If HM were to act as a 'liberal autocrat' in any of the Realms, there would be a surge in republicanism in all of them and the Monarchy would undoubtedly be overthrown in the Realm she was acting in.

The election of Peter O'Neill as Papua New Guinean PM in August has been ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court, leaving the question of just who is PM open. There has been an attempt to dismiss the Chief Justice, who will file contempt charges against O'Neill and his lawyer, while there will apparently be another attempt to just swear in O'Neill. Clearly the nation is on the brink of anarchy and Misis Kwin's urgent intervention is sorely needed lest the nation erupt in mass rioting and looting of TVs! She must also in addition bring to them the cargo which she was given by the gods to distribute to the people of PNG! AAAAhhhhhh!!!!!

Michael Somare and Peter O'Neill are both staying on as PM! Civil war is imminent in PNG! Misis Kwin the superhero must intervene and save the world's bananas!

KYM please calm down.  This is a constitutional crisis and no "civil war is imminent" as you put it.  There is no indication that the military is spliting or that rebles are taking up arms.  I know you enjoy bringing out the dramatic, but this just hasn't reached that level yet.  The Queen has done exactly what she should, she has steered clear of this fiasco.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-01-26/military-mutiny-underway-in-png/3794314

A military mutiny has erupted in the PNG capital, with the colonel leading it (who favors Michael Somare over Peter O'Neill btw) threatening to take unspecified "necessary" actions if the constitutional crisis isn't resolved in one week.

Either a military coup or civil war will happen by February if things don't change.

Misis Kwin must intervene and use the prerogatives of the PNG Crown to re-establish order and prevent conflict in Papua New Guinea!!!! The future of the realm depends on it!!!!!

Once again, since you don't seem to get it, the future of the Realm, as a Realm headed by Her Majesty the Queen (the last time I checked, you spoke English, not pidgin) is for Her Majesty to act as a Constitutional Monarch and stay out of politics. As Ethio and I have both pointed out, direct involvement by the Queen would undoubtedly lead to a republic in PNG and a massive surge in republicanism in all the other Realms as well.
