Texas, supposedly, threatened to secede, though I have not read up on the matter save an article or two. But if Texas did and unrest broke out, might you wish an army to rise up against the Republic and create a Hispanic throne, or a kingdom annexed to Spain--I fear the latter might be difficult, which is why I think an independent kingdom of New Mexico would be better.

I would think the best army to rise against it would be a Catholic White Army, given the Catholic, Spanish heritage of the region. Mexicans could be offered citizenship in the new kingdom if they were willing to fight, and Americans and Canadians particularly could fight.

I just do not know, given the liberal mindset of many Catholics, if this would work, save among traditionalists.

I know many may think this raises the controversial Catholic topic again, but given the Spanish history of the region, a Catholic monarchy is the most apt. It could be called the Kingdom of Texas, New Mexico, or perhaps some new name like Santa Maria in honour of the Virgin.

I was reading about the Mexican War today and dreams about leading a campaign in the name of God against the Republic of Texas were in my head.

We could call Mexicans from south of the boarder to join us in exchange for benefits like land and nobility in the possible new kingdom, thus freeing them from Mexico--where they have been leaving to find work and a better life in America as it is. Also, American, Canadians and other interested Catholics who wish to form a Catholic nation, and even Protestants if they are willing, though I think we will be more likely to attract traditionalist Catholics. It would be a Catholic White army who would march at the will of God for His glory with the Holy Cross before it and the Virgin in its hearts, for the glory of the Spanish and Hispanic peoples above the infidels of the world. Our banner would be the cross and the banner Our Lady of Guadalupe, and she would give us victory by His grace.

This is a bit dreamy, but if it were possible what would you say. Contra has already pointed out the possibility of civil war in the world later, and if Texas seriously did secede we might make it Spanish again, if not property of Spain, a new kingdom inspired by its Spanish heritage, whose language would indeed be Spanish and English. This would only be the state of Texas in its secession, seized by God's servants, the White Army and given back to its rightful Spanish owners.

Forgive the Catholic overtone, but again consider the heritage of the people and the greater likelihood of Catholic monarchists.

Would you be willing or support a monarchist army to march against a new Republic of Texas, destroy it, and reclaim it in the name of the Spanish peoples? That is the question.

Later perhaps we might even sieze the original Mexican territories like southern California, New Mexico, and south Colorodo, even Mexico, but that would take a lot and would require fighting the United States, a massive army, as well as the Mexico. This claiming the seceeded Texas is the question at the moment, whose sovreignty being new and questionable, would be more rightly up for grabs.

There was a micronationalist Kingdom of Texas for a bit.  It got less support than ours does (which is way, way, way too little to have a ghost of chance without Divine Intervention).

This is assuming Texas did secede. I suppose then we have the questions of whether other states would join them and form a Conderacy, as well as the opposition from the Union trying to oppose such. Thus we would have two enemies, I fear, which may make it difficult. It Texas did secede others might follow, and as allies, would protect them form any monarchial advance. Still, it is an interesting question, I think.

Would you join the army? I should be glad to fight with you, though you are Protestant and the banner is Catholic.

Me?

Would I fight for a Roman Catholic Kingdom of Texas?

No.

If it were sufficiently tolerant, I might help in material ways.

Anyone else have anything to say. Blayne, you are a Texan and I think we have at least one or two more on here. Texans are very proud of their cowboy-land, which is why many Yankees hate the state that executes more people than any other.

Of course, I find the American conservative brand of Texans a bit annoying myself, but not because they are "white trash racist executioners" as Yankees would brand them, but because they take pride in their stolen land and because of their modernist spirit--neo-cons and such. The liberals hate them because the Texans are not politically correct. I hate their liberal spirit, though I do not hate them.

Stolen land? Try right of conquest. We beat the Mexicans fairly enough. And you'd be hard pressed to convince people here of a monarch being best choice.

I suppose you are right, Blayne, it was won by conquest of a sovereign nation with lawful authority. But if she seceded, we would have the same right of conquest, in the name of God, for and in behalf of the Catholic Faith and the Spanish peoples.

But the Texans are very proud of their heritage and you are right would likely not submit to a monarch which is why Mexicans would have to give given citizenship, who at least have the more Catholic and monarchist heritage. Of course the country of Mexico itself is likely going to remain a republic, but the land of Texas would be a kingdom for the Mexican people, a new kingdom where they might find freedom and prosperity as their people deserve. After a conquest by the Mexicans and other members of a White Army, we should hope the Texan republicans would be a minority, and submit.

There are a lot of questions and difficulties in such a situation such as

1. Would the United States fight for regain Texas with her own arms, this giving us another enemy, and furthermore would Texas have allies in other seceeding states, forming another Confederacy? That would give us another enemy, and would likely be too strong for a White Army, unless she had allies--and I doubt Spain for example, would help. Or Mexico even. Maybe if Utah seceeded, the Mormons would help if we would help? Maybe the Native Americans would help if we would give them land?

2. If a White Army did gain control of Texas, would the US Army try to take it back, or the pro-republicans try to overthrow such a crown and continue an independent Republic of Texas? Would the Pope, given the politically correct manner of Rome, reconise it or want ot to be more "democratic and submissive" to the world? In ages past, he may have happly encouraged such action, but today it might be frowned upon.

The army would consist of various Catholics who wish to join from around the world and Mexicans looking for a better life, who if sucessful, all would form the new kingdom. The quesiton is would such a movement be powerful enough or would its opponents be too great? She would first have to take Texas for herself, and them maintain control over it, the latter of which might earn the enemy of the US, a very difficult foe.

There are not enough monarchists in the world to take Texas away from the current residents by force of arms.  Even if those monarchists had state support (and perhaps Iran would fund such a venture to annoy the US....), the taking and holding of Texas without the use of WMDs wouldn't be possible for anyone other than the US at this point in time (given time, and the inclination, China might develop the ability).

Should the world fall in on the US, it might be possible for Monarchists to seize and hold  pockets in Texas, and if they administered Justice, and protected the People, while leaving them to their peaceful pursuits (as monarchs traditionally have), they might be able to establish a landed 'kingdom', - with all the world's militant monarchists supporting such an endevour, it might be possible to carve out something the size of the smaller European states.

Better bet would be to by a large west Texas ranch, and wait until there is no chance of a Janet Reno event, and declare sovereignty....

The U.S. will come to an end and there will(or won't) be chaos. Just a fact of life.

As all large powerful nations generally commit suicide, we'd like break into pieces with some mid-western states staying together, some southern states together, some northern states, etc, and California would secede back to hell.

This scenario only works in a time when the United States is:

1. Bankrupt

2. Militarily unable to maintain our empire overseas

3. Dominated by massive civil unrest

The nation will reach this point someday, many nations do.

Yes, and that will be when the Social Reign of Christ the King takes hold, Blayne. The question is will it be in our lifetimes? If not ours, our children's?

I agree the problem may have to be more widespread to have any hope of restoring monarchy.

God only knows. Our current situation could develop into something so extreme that in 20 years it takes place(God forbid).

The world wasn't expecting one man being shot to result in the lives of tens of millions in World War I, or all of Europe to come crashing down.

Anything can happen and at anytime.
