Der Deutscher Kaiser und Kaiserin had twins earlier this month!

First out is the future Kaiser und Koenig Prinz Carl Friedrich, then came the forevermore one step behind Prinz Ludwig Ferdinand!

Genghis Khan is already raising his Mongol Army from the grave to cow Germany into restoring the monarchies so that his descendant Prince Carl Friedrich may one day have even kings bow before him!

Chaaarge! Hup!

EDIT: I got this awesome info off of Theodore's blog.

I'm surprised there's been so little reaction to this wonderful news. 'Course the thread did get buried quite quickly. So, please react, people. Yay German royal babies!!!

Well, I knew about it. The pregnancy was mentioned on some thread or other a few weeks ago, then I too saw the birth announcement on royalcello's blog. I've been waiting for Leo van der Pas to update Genealogics so I in turn can update the Percentages (1) chart in the pinned thread on this board, but he hasn't yet. It was important of course for there to be a boy, as under equal marriage rules eligible Hohenzollerns were getting thin on the ground. But as twins improves the chances of a boy from 50% to 75% I was fairly relaxed about that. Boy twins of course is ideal, an heir and a spare at one go, and I wish them a daughter next time, assuming that's what they wish themselves.

I should mention that some people question the Genghis Khan thing, doubting that the marriage through which the connection comes ever took place. I don't personally see why, it is no worse documented than you would expect for the period and region and there is nothing inherently unlikely in it, other such marriages took place that are not doubted. I see no reason not to hold to the correctness of the descent, but felt it incumbent on me to mention that it is questioned, however unreasonably. Finally, of course, long life, health and happiness to the new princes and congratulations to their royal parents.
