Hi all. The name's Uplander. I've been lurking here for the past couple of weeks and decided to finally join. I'm 16 years of age and am a resident of Virginia. I'm somewhat of a traditionalist libertarian, though no fan of the institution of democracy (if that makes any sense). This seems to be an extremely interesting forum and I thought it would be for the best if I made my presence known and contributed.

I've always been interested in government and political theory, but recently I've been disillusioned with republicanism and the democratic process in general. So much bloodshed and corruption has arisen because of charlatans and crooks (Kirchner and Chavez) and psychopaths (Hitler) being voted into office. It seems to me that a stable monarchy that respects natural law, rule of law, property rights, and the preeminence of God and religion may be the way to go. I won't say that it is by any means perfect, but it is better than democracy (which always seems to devolve into Godless totalitarianism anyway).

Hello, my name is Richard. I am a dedicated Monarchist and Distributist for a number of reasons, many of which I see echoed above. I spent years as an Intelligence specialist for the military and studied a great deal of political science and history as part of my profession. My university studies in ethics and theology cemented my beliefs in proper leadership and interactions.
I have spent almost 15 years actively discussing monarchy, Distributism, political transformation, and nation-building and am chagrined to have not joined this forum earlier.

Hello, I am Jonathan. I am Richard's (the guy who posted his introduction above me) son, and thus have the rare privilege of being raised as a Distributist Catholic Monarchist in a democratic nation. I am looking forward a good deal to using this forum.

Hello everyone.

I'm a 17 year old British monarchist and unionist of half-Scottish and half-English ancestry. I am extremely proud of my joint heritage, and my name, of course, is Latin for "Long live the Queen of Scots"- which in my mind refers to both the tragic Mary, Queen of Scots and our current sovereign, Queen Elizabeth II, although sadly the title "Queen of Scots" is no longer in use. I like to think of myself as a living embodiement of the Act of Union.  I'm also a keen history enthusiast and love learning about other cultures; I have a particular interest in East Asia, and it saddens me deeply to see China, the home of Confucius (I consider myself a Confucian, by the way) and the Mandate of Heaven, languish under a communist regime. I am a supporter of the Church of England and an antidisestablishmentarian, but although I have recently come to privately believe in a higher power I am not a Christian. Nonetheless I believe in religion as a positive force in society and as a student studying to become a palaeontologist, I'll be the first person to argue against anyone who says religion and science can't coexist in harmony. My hero(in)es are Adolf von Harnier, Queen Marie Antoinette of France, King Charles I of England and Scotland and Richard Owen. I could go on.

I'm sure you'll all learn more about me in time, but for now I'd like to say that I am interested in monarchist political theory, history and contemporary monarchist movements, and that I joined this forum in the hope of finding people who share my interest in monarchism. Not entirely sure how to sign off, but I might go on forever if I don't so... I'll just say that I look forward to posting here and becoming part of this online community!
