KYM was no Communist! Although I kind of liked him, raving I would have to concede is a not too unfair description of some of his posts; his heart was in the right place but his head not always firmly screwed on. Anyway, welcome back whoever you were.

KYM may not have been a Communist but he was just like modern left-liberals who are increasingly intolerant of dissenting opinions to the point they differ little from Communists in that regard anyway.

I'm delighted at seeing old names return. We've had a rocky 18 months to two years, so it's a welcome change.

KYM was just a very over enthusiastic young man who expressed himself over exuberantly.  He wasn't a communist being a very enthusiastic monarchist so let's be fair.  He did have a marked talent for annoying people, including myself from time to time, but I actually kind of miss his zany pronouncements.

I agree he was genuinely enthusiastic about monarchism, but his basic failing was a complete lack of tact and common sense. There is nothing wrong with holding the kind of views he does, although he went a little too far, but he should have been more mindful of the inclinations of most people here.

Let's face it, people who have strongly-held views either way (and mine are well known to most and I make no apologies for them) don't like to be pushed on them, and are often quite reactive and defensive when pushed about them. I confess that has been the case with me even on here.

KYM was a wild-card that seemed to operate from genuine left field most of the time and this tended to grate with some members here as he held some views that were a little 'extreme' for most here, shall we say. It was this steadfastness that unfortunately led to his downfall ultimately.

To me the difference between Communist and extreme left-wing views is like splitting hairs, and like a Communist, KYM had a condescending intolerance of opposing viewpoints and stooped to their level of personal attacks and insults. His arrogant tirade against the owner of this forum, sank to a new low, and I for one and glad to be rid of his presence... I'm sure that I will disagree with others viewpoints, but I will at least make an effort at courtesy.

As for my previous appearances on this forum, Jovan66102 (who also shared my views of KYM) can vouch for my credentials, as can royalcello and BaronVonServers. [smile]

I was exiled to the poor-house Elizabelo_II.  I love having the internet, but as funds available dwindled, it became a luxury we couldn't afford.

I think I'm now current on my readings here up through about the 20th.  I hope to be more interactive from here on out.  I'm adjusting to my new work (and with it a return to working in the day time), so I cannot promise full participation just yet.

KYJ (I almost never corrected that typo) was an interesting contributor here.  Like the nutty uncle, one expected zaniness from him.  But there are limits, even for crazy uncles.
