Congradulations to His Majesty. The King of Bhutan has always been my favorite monarch.

Why hasn't Theodore blogged about 2011 being the year of royal weddings like 2008 was the year of coronations?

Edit: Yay! 4,000th post!

Also Georg Friedrich is getting married in August also. Though it wont be as big as the British, Monoco and Bhutaneses weddings.

I'm sure that the royal houses of Britain, Monaco, Prussia, and Bhutan have been anxiously awaiting my blog posts without which they could not possibly hold a royal wedding...

But you blogged on the year of coronations, so for consistency's sake you really should blog on 2011, year of five major royal weddings!

You forgot to include Prince Ermias of Ethiopia in your royal wedding year blog.

Oops--sorry.  I only listed the ones I knew about before this thread started.  (I had read about Bhutan in Hello! before KYM and Spongie555 posted the other links.)  Also, Prince Ermias, of whom I must confess I had not heard, being 9th in line according to Wikipedia, is not the head or future head of the Ethiopian Imperial Family.  All the other royal grooms are sovereigns (Albert II and Jigme Khesar Wangchuk), would-be sovereigns (Georg Friedrich I), or future sovereigns (William V), making their weddings about as "major" for their respective dynasties as it gets.

Fair enough, Prince Ermias is not the head of the Imperial family and probably shouldn't be included in your blog.  Although he is as you say 9th in the order of succession, he is by far the most visible and best known member of the family as President of the Crown Council.  In the early 1990s there was an attempt by elements in the Moa Anbessa royalist party to have the Prince named as an alternate pretender to the Emperor-in-exile and his son, but Prince Ermias refused to accept and released a statement reaffirming his recognition of his uncle as rightful Emperor and head of the Imperial Family.  It caused a huge stir at the time.

Prince Ermias married earlier this year the former Woizero Saba Kebede.  It is the second marriage for both.
