Your argument is with Ockham "The first is that it was transferred from the Romans to the Greeks (dist. 96, c. Constantinus [c.14, col.342])." And the doctrine of Translation Imperi.

Ockham was wrong on the matter.
I'm not sure of all the implications of the 'doctrine' of the translation imperi - but if it requires disavowing fact, yeah, I'm opposed to it as well...

And your point?

The Title 'Emperor of the Romans' wasn't the one in use by the REAL Roman Emperor.  See also the argument about 'King of the French' v. 'King of France'.

The Pope made him 'Emperor of the Romans' (as he was in Roma) but did NOT make him 'Roman Emperor' - that title was already held by a Catholic Emperor at New Rome (Constantinople).

Napoleon had insisted that his coronation was not to be an event
staged for the populace. The congregation was to consist of distinguished people only.
