Gaddafi could also have proclaimed himself King of Libya. He actually wanted his son Saif al-Islam Gaddafi to succeed him as the leader of Libya. The Senussis are hardly an old dynasty. King Idris is the only Senussi, who has been King of Libya, and King Idris died childless.
I like Gaddafi, because he was elected King of Kings of Africa by 200 African kings. While Pan-Arabism is strongly republican, Pan-Africanism has often been monarchist. Haile Selassie was a Pan-Africanist. I like the idea of a United States of Africa ruled by either the Solomonic dynasty of Ethiopia or the Gaddafis. Most African countries aren't nation-states unlike the European countries. Most African countries was created by European colonialism and is the home of many different ethnic groups.

I support a restoration of the Senussi dynasty too, because a Senussi King of Libya will be an unifying national symbol. It may be the only way to stabilize Libya after the civil war, which is still ongoing. If the Senussi monarchy is restored, I want Saif al-Islam Gaddafi to become prime minister of Libya.
