Pasargadae, the capital of ancient Persia under Cyrus the Great, has been the centre of rallies being leaked on social media (a way to get information out of Iran given the regime's censorship) in celebration of royalty:

And yet again:

A longer video:

Even better, the REAL Iranian flag is displayed:

The message is clear: freedom of thought is impossible with mullahs in charge

Such open defiance of the regime is an extraordinarily brave act in face of the fact that one is likely to place themselves, family and friends in danger of regime thugs and spooks.

It seems to me that the regime in Ethiopia has tried to use the same methods as that of Iran to censor information, controlling the flow of it in and out of the country, yet it seems that such methods are doomed to fail if modern technology allows people to subvert it.

The opposition movement in Iran is so broad-based that trying to unify it is a very difficult task because of complex questions involved, including ethnicity and religion. The Arab and Kurdish minorities frequently highlight the severe human rights violations committed against their peoples in Iran, but most Iranian oppositionists also oppose any attempt to divide the country.

The Iranian regime is actually frightened that Iranians know the truth that should set them free. The heritage of Iran both Islamic and pre-Islamic (to which so much of modern Judaism, Christianity and Islam owes along with Rome, Greece and Egypt) far overrides the barbarity and hate that has governed the country since 1979.

But Iranians need to recognise just as much that non-violent resistance may not work, and that they may not count on the idiotic liberal Western elites to support their quest for freedom. After all, Western "liberals" (and the BBC) delivered Iran to this horrible state to begin with.

Here is the image of a 3-year old girl murdered by regime authorities during the arrest of her father. A 3-year old girl? FMD.

A congratulations to Trump, and the need to continue highlighting human rights violations in Iran:

The United States should also not be shy about supporting opposition movements and pressing for democratic change in Iran. Since the uprisings of the summer of 2009, the Islamic Republic has used repression and promises of a better economy to pacify a sullen and disenfranchised population. Iran very much resembles the Soviet Union of the 1970s: a bloated, bureaucratic state justifying its power by an ideology that convinces no one. The system itself invites instability as its corruption, internal intrigues, and persistent purges reflect a government that can’t sustainably maintain its own cadre or co-opt its citizens. Iran’s overburdened security services may be able to cope with the occasional demonstration but cannot stem the tide of sustained protests.

OK, but the ONLY opposition you really should talk to are the nationalists, monarchists, liberal democrats, ethnic and religious minorities... not to certain cults!

Meanwhile, an Iranian Kurdish party sends Trump a message:

Is this a joke? No. The Iranian regime carried out assassinations in Germany and Austria of high-profile dissidents. Now they want a closer relationship with Europe in the Trump era.
