William IV is the most unjustly ommited of the British monarchs. He followed the four famous Georges and preceeded the 63 year mammoth reign of Queen Victoria, his own 7 years on the throne are often glossed over. His reign saw the abolition of the rotten burroughs, and the granting of a new constitution to Hannover, of which he was also King. He also supported Belgian independence and who suggested the later Leopold I for the Belgian throne.

His Queen gave her name to one of my Continent's great and beautiful capital cities - Adelaide, so he will be forever remembered in my neck of the woods, along with many King William streets.
Yours Sincerely Queenslander
