I read that some native Americans in South America located near Argentina chose a monarchy, The kingdom is of Araucania and Patagonia. There is a website about the kingdom that was not accepted by its neighboring South American countries who claimed them their territory. http://www.geocities.com/tourtoirac/?200714

For those who are interested in the Kingdom of Araucania and Patagonia, it is good to note that there is a new sovereign, elected on March 24, 2018 by the Regency Council, following the death of Prince Antoine IV.

His name is Frederic Luz, age 54, born in Toulouse, France.  He reigns using the name Frederic I.

Here's a picture of him, wearing the grand collar of the Royal Order of the South Star.  Taken in Paris, March 24, 2018.

More details are available in English at http://www.steelcrown.org.
