The Bourbon-Parma royal family are selling off jewels that they inherited that once belonged to Queen Marie Antoinette. Marie Antoinette had arranged for a good portion of her personal jewels to be smuggled out to France during the revolution. Following her execution they became the property of her daughter Marie Therese, Duchesse d'Angouleme, who was the daughter-in-law and neice of Charles X, and wife of his heir. However, since the Duchesse was childless, she passed the jewels on to her neice Therese, daughter of her cousin and brother-in-law the Duc de Berry, who became Duchess of Parma and passed the jewels into the Bourbon-Parma family.
