Hello All.

Most of the Christian monarchists I have encountered around the web have been of the Romanist or Eastern persuasion when it comes to religion. As such, most of their arguments from a semi religious perspective come from those perspectives.

So I was wondering; can anyone here provide me with some books, essays, blogs and other such things written by protestants in support of monarchy?

I would be particularly interested in Anglican and Lutheran writers. The former, because they are the largest non Roman or EO denomination in the net monarchism that I know, and the later because I want to be able to have some backup when dealing with American Lutherans, who tragically seem to have adopted some bad mannerisms and are often quite unwilling to hear from those outside their own camp.

thanks.

I take it by "Romanist" you mean Catholic?

The Basilikon Doron by the Calvinist protestant HM James VI&I comes immediately to mind. Others may have other suggestions, and I'll add any I think of later. Oh, and of course, there's always Leviathan, by Thomas Hobbes, if you're into absolute monarchy.

These are the men whose tap-root in Eden has been cut: whom no rumour of the polyphony, the dance, can reach - men to whom pebbles laid in a row are more beautiful than an arch. Yet even if they desire equality, they cannot reach it. Where men are forbidden to honour a king they honour millionaires, athletes or film-stars instead: even famous prostitutes or gangsters.
