Is there anything the identity politics freaks aren't going to make an issue out of? They are trying to divide and destroy us all:

This has gone too far.

If half-Nigerian Shirley Bassey can own a blackamoor and find it decorative and harmless, they are OK as far as I'm concerned. Yes they represent a time and a place, but so do crucifixions, Dutch still lives with tulips that no longer exist, pictures of the dodo, referring to homosexual people (I am one) as "uranists" and other fruity language, opening doors for women, remembering that "enormity" is a catastrophe, not another word for "greatness in size".....Aaaaaargh.

Anyway, the brooch is beautiful, beautifully crafted, and in no way should it be "retired".

Bring Back the Blackamoor! And Aldermen, and knighthoods, and the Loyal Toast, and, and...

We see identity politics posturing from Linda Burney which was more or less an attack on the monarchy. I'm not wrong when I say that Prince Harry's engagement to Meghan Markle isn't going to change the opinions of these people (i.e. the Left and the identity politics crowd) towards the monarchy, the Royal Family and our British heritage, and our Royal Family need to be aware that it may be pointless to appease people who will never be won over.

God Save the Queen.
