A good friend of my daughter's is a student at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and she performed for Prince Charles.

She has a picture of him shaking her hand in the receiving line.

I believe that this is the first time someone I know has met royalty. So cool.

Thanks for your post. Was it at Buckingham Palace that your daughter's friend performed for Prince Charles ?  You're right, it must have been pretty cool. I also have never had any personal experience encountering royalty. I think that they probably tend to avoid this bleak puritan commonwealth where I live. But it must have been an exciting experience for your daughter's friend, and it's nice that she has a picture of herself shaking hands with the prince. The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama sounds like a nice school to attend.

I have a friend in Edmonton who has been in the Royal Suite of the MacDonald hotel with Her Majesty. He was the director of our local theatre troop and they were doing a Command Performance. He asked, 'Ma'am what time is your car coming' (to take her to the theatre). She replied, 'Car? I'm walking'. The theatre was only two blocks away, but I'm sure it drove the RCMP to distraction!

And whilst I didn't meet her, I was about 2 metres away from HRH Sophie, Countess of Wessex when she reviewed her regiment, the South Alberta Light Horse.
