The International Strategic Studies Association has announced the opening of a new Center for the Study of Monarchy, Traditional Governance, and Sovereignty, aiming to stimulate discussions on monarchy and monarchism in the modern world. According to the website, support comes from Prince Ermias Sahle Selassie of Ethiopia and Ardeshir Zahedi, who was foreign minister of Iran under the Shah.

I hope to find out more about this because if it is what I hope it is, then we can see what is possible through discussion with high-ranking people close to the heart of the matter.

I must say, it is highly encouraging to see the creation of new forums for serious discussion of the role traditional and monarchical leadership can play in a country. Many of the things said in that press release would seem like common sense to any monarchist or traditionalist conservative. I'm not sure how much influence this organisation actually possesses, however. Unfortunately I can't really see major monarchies such as the UK and other commonwealth realms, Spain or Japan wanting to lend much support to the Center's work.

The ISSA is quite influential in Washington DC's power circles.  Its membership includes some very high ranking civilian and military officials.  General Alexander Haig, former Secretary of State under the Reagan Administration and previously the Commander of NATO forces was a long time member of ISSA and was awarded its prestigious medal alongside Prince Ermias back in the 1990s.  It remains very influential due to the very high powered membership it has.

That more or less answers it. The whole point is that we will not succeed anywhere without the support of well-connected people. To be able to tap into this is a wonderful thing.

Recent progress has been made with a new website for the Center for the Study of Monarchy, Traditional Governance, and Sovereignty, named after Fazlollah and Ardeshir Zahedi. Looks like they are churning out some work.
