Hawaii is an issue dear to quite a few people's hearts though I've not touched much on it in the time I've been on here. Anyway, with regards to Hawaiian nationalist groups, there does appear to be some debate on accepting the idea that the Hawaiian people - presumably in the state form of a constitutional monarchy - could attain the same kind of recognition as the Native American nations do. This means they would acquire a parallel yet dependent government structure of their own.
On the other hand, if they were to grant full independence to Hawaii, they could just partition another US state, so the number stays at 50
