Has He been identified? Is it possible He is American? Does He have to be a descendant of the Bourbon Dynasty?

Personally, I do not believe in the reality of prophecies relating to this " Grand Monarque".
But, if one refer to the texts which compose various prophecies (cf Nostradamus, Barthélémy Holzhauzer, Abbé Souffrant, Marie Julie de La Fraudais, Marquis de La Franquerie):
- The Grand Monarque names Louis or Cyren.
- He is Catholic
- He is a Bourbon, but resulting "of a crossing branch" (thus it cannot be nor Jean d' Orleans, nor Luis de Bourbon-Spain)
- He is a "hidden King" (Roi Caché).
He returns to save France, but nothing in prophecies indicates that he is French.
Cf.: Marquis de la Franquerie de la Tour, André Lesage , Le Saint Pape et le grand monarque d'après les prophéties, Editions de Chiré, 1980.

How do you know all this stuff? Actually, Biblical foreshadowing suggests that He is "of nobility" as opposed to being royalty. With that being said, how do you know He is a Bourbon?

I hate these threads. We're not a society of loonies (says the person who just spent a good part of two days working out relationships between people who died over 400 years ago). Normal religion, fine, crazy prophecies, my sense of humour fails me.

Actually, prophecies regarding the Great Monarch that have been approved by the Church are a part of 'normal religion' for many Catholics, including myself. I just never bring them up on this forum because its 'thrust' is directed toward the temporal here-and-now.

It's in scripture. I can provide a really good argument for this eventual figure. Which prophecies have been disapproved by the Church? I have just learned nostradamus's predictions are rejected by the Church.

True, we never discuss religion here. I forgot.

Shouldn't think so, Ponocrates. That's Aragorn Elessar, King of Gondor and Arnor sometime before the Ice Ages.

I am new to this site. What is the purpose of this site? Is everyone here some kind of nobility or royalty?

No, we are just all interested in and supportive of monarchy. We have been known to discuss religion now and then, that was a joke on my part. I have even been known to weigh in on those discussions. I don't though care to have discussions of this kind of prophecy, because many people think monarchists are nuts to start with and a thread of this nature tends to act as confirmation of that theory.

Can someone please explain what this is about?  Who is this "Great Monarch" and what does he have to do with Catholicism and the Bourbons?

He is the first horseman of the apocalypse. Some say he will be a bourbon but I haven't seen any strong evidence of this.

Infinite Lord: Will the horseman of the Apocalypse confine himself to France? What constitutional authority will he base his rule? Will he actually ride a horse or will he use modern weapons and technologies.

Peter, thanks for the clarification. I didn't mean to propose something too far-fetched.
