1. You don't need to check 413 users, but only the 86 who have more than fifty posts.

2. Then you put aside the people whom you are certain have contributed in the last two years - for example, no need to check to see, e.g., whether Baron or Jovan contributed in the last two years.

3. That may cut your number down to 40-50 or so that you need to check.    For those, go to the search page and search by member name and make it where it pulls up posts from <Any Date> <and Older>.  The first post you see will be their last one.   If the last one was from before 2009 (or whatever date is determined to be the cutoff) then you don't include them in the tally.    There is probably a good number of people with over 50 posts who haven't contributed since 2007.

If anything, this is an understatement, as Peter, Jovan, and Caesar have all deleted their accounts once before, and I know Peter's old account had at least 1,100 posts on it. (I added Peter's previous account alone and the percentage jumps to 49.86% being 7 persons' contributions. It is thus a certainty that over half the forum is the contribution of only 9 people, when Jovan and Caesar are included.)

Updating this, I can tell you that 9 people have contributed approximately 53.57% of this forum. Those 9 are myself, royalcello, BaronVonServers, Ethiomonarchist, ProudCanadian, TheRoyalist, Peter, jovan66102, and Ponocrates. And this is without counting Peter's and jovan66102's previous accounts. Wow.

Wow, so how many posts would Peter and Jovan have if their previous accounts were counted?

I know I was into four figures, but not by very much. Jovan I'm sure was too, and probably more than me since he'd been around longer. I've never cared about these sorts of things anyway, the one time I was bothered was on a forum where you got titles depending on your post count, and I was posting like crazy to get past 'Pooh-Bah', since I have a deep-seated loathing of Gilbert & Sullivan.

While I'm not sure about Jovan, I know Peter's first account had about 1100 posts or so.

I think Peter is correct and that I was slightly ahead of him with around 1200 or 1300 posts.

What the hell!

"First account had about 1100 posts or so."

"I was slightly ahead of him with around 1200 or 1300 posts."

I'm afraid this sounds like a description of "a bit sad".

Mind you, if the cap fits.

Can you please stop with the nonsense?

I believe Jovan once wondered how long he'd been here as he couldn't remember when he'd signed up. After a bit of checking, I found out that Jovan has posts from all the way back on June 14th, 2006, meaning he signed up within three weeks of the forum's birth on May 24th, 2006.

Thank you, Sir! Now if I could only remember how I found it!

And updating this to include the approximate values of Peter and Jovan's old accounts, the percentage of posts by those 9 people jumps to about 57.77%. Holy crap, 4.2% of all this forum's posts were done by Peter and Jovan just using their original accounts!
