I have been a Monarchist for about 9 months now. To my disappointment, I have found no group actually attempting to instate a monarchy in America via legal means. Is there any actual party with which I can identify, or must I remain an independent monarchist; content with saying "I told you so" while the rest of the nation burns?

The Royalist Party seems to have become inactive. However, the Monarchist League in America has a new website: http://monarchyamerica.net/

What do you mean by legal means? Just through the political process, instead of violence? Or one committed to using the current constitutional provisions to amend that constitution?

I would say both. I believe that even though it may have begun as an illegitimate government, the United States is still a valid authority over its citizens (a bastard has rightful authority over his own son). Therefore opposing it through violence would be in contradiction to Romans 13 and 1 Peter 2. Aside from that, unless it were tremendously popular, a coup attempt would easily be crushed by the current government. Luckily the democratic system is so weak it can actually destroy itself through legislature. That is what I propose monarchist party should do. Elect officials through the catalyst of democracy and use those officials to destroy said democracy. Biblical, legal, and more feasible than a coup de e'tat .

As far as the US goes we need more than just a political party. We need a complete change of mindset. This is gonna take a very long time so for right now us United States monarchists should work on building the foundation for a Constitutional monarchy in our nation but it won't be in our life time and highly unlikely to ever occur. In the Commonwealth the Queen is currently the main symbol of national unity for the diverse communities in the Commonwealth. In the US however the monarch has been rather effectively been replaced with the flag or Constitution as a unity symbol. This means we need a grassroots build up of reactionary values before any real goals can be achieved.
